Tao is currently working on his Ph.D. in Geology at the University of Michigan. He received his B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2011 and his M.S. degree in Geology at the University of Michigan in 2014. His research interests include the hydrogeology of sedimentary basins and migration of subsurface fluids (e.g., natural gas and groundwater) with the aid of noble gas geochemistry, numerical modeling and so on.
In addition, the experience Tao has gained while working as the president of The USTC Alumni Association in Greater Detroit Area demonstrates his ability in leadership, time management and collaboration with a diverse range of people.
