The Community Monthly Newsletter
Did you know that October is national chili month? I don’t know if whoever came up with this was trying to be punny, but it sure is the month where chilly is almost not adequate enough to describe the weather. Before the weather turns too cold we have some news that may warm you up!
*Feel free to forward this newsletter to anyone that might be interested! We would also encourage you to share our monthly newsletters on your social media platforms so others may become aware of the IIR Community,*
As always, please feel free to come to me with any questions or concerns you may have (firstname.lastname@example.org).

The Second IIR Focus Group is Coming Up!
We recently held our first IIR Focus Group and focused on TIME MANAGEMENT (something we could all use a little help on). Check out our blog on the event to find out what problems we were facing and what solutions we came up with! Make sure you RSVP to email@example.com for the next IIR Focus Group coming up on Nov 5 from 5 – 6 PM EST.
We are currently holding one-on-one interviews with our IIRs
To best ensure that all of our IIRs are being heard and to make sure that every IIR is having an optimal experience we are holding one-on-one interviews. We also have new updates to the IIR Program that we would like to share with you. These interviews are meant to be conversational and we hope to receive plenty of feedback to further improve our IIR Program! For further input or feedback feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.

What we’re working on…
Lead Catalyst: Divya
IIRs: Samhitha, Oluseyi, Dhanashree, Hui
Summary: Our client has developed DIVER, a tool for authoring and sharing DIVES. A DIVE is an annotated perspective on any video record. Content can be captured by equipment ranging from basic consumer video cameras to specially built, high-resolution 360-degree panoramic cameras with a multi-microphone array. The SearchLite is helping our client perform Customer Discovery and assess Product-Market Fit for their solution by understanding potential customers, the jobs they are trying to get done, the pains they experience and the gains they desire.
Lead Catalyst: Divya
IIRs: Qi, Anuhya
Summary: A typical manufacturing plant spends a lot of time and resources during the manufacturing life cycle of a product. The complete lifecycle from conception to production, involves many users, processes and documents making it very fragmented, time consuming and susceptible to errors. Our client has developed a Bill of Materials software called “Q-It,” that helps manufacturing companies in optimizing their time and resources while managing their products, processes and projects effectively. The SearchLite is helping the client perform Customer Validation for their software product “Q-It” by assessing the Product-Market Fit and defining a sales roadmap.
Lead Catalyst: Scott
Summary: The SearchLite’s client is looking for business growth opportunity in the market domain of Factory Automation and, more specifically within a new category of products referred to as SMART PRODUCTS, and industrial communication networks (or NETWORKS). This information will be used to inform new product development planning, and strategic or innovation strategies.

The second IIR Focus Group will meet on Nov.5. Be there or be square!
After our first Focus Group session turned out to be fun, informational, beneficial event, we decided to continue holding IIR Focus Groups! Our second session will take place on Nov. 5, from 5-6 PM EST. This would be an informal discussion group where you can talk about interesting and helpful topics with your peers and receive tips and advice from one another. The first half of the discussion will focus on a voted topic and the second half will take the form of an open discussion. Every month we will present about three topics that attendees can choose from to discuss, or have the option of discussing a suggested topic that is not listed. For our second meeting the potential topics will be: Business research, Other Opportunities that Exist on a Career Path, Job Searching, Interviewing, and Other (suggestions). Please save the date and RSVP (email@example.com) to let us know if you plan to join the online event! We will send out more details shortly! Contact Christy Song for any inquiries (firstname.lastname@example.org).
It is often difficult as an International student to know all of the right steps to take or what documents to keep track of. We have been informed of a course that is being offered starting October 29, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT. Check out this link to register!
If you have any suggestions or feedback about the IIR program, please take the time to fill this survey out. It will greatly help us improve the program and will give us feedback on what is and is not working. We look forward to receiving your responses!
*** Have more ideas? We are listening. Take the survey HERE so that you too can impact our community for the better! ***
As all of you know, the Learning Management System is a crucial part of the IIR experience and we strongly encourage our innovators to participate. It is an easy and fast way to become aware of what exactly The SearchLite does and what terminology we are using and why. Several IIRS have shown outstanding performance and have completed all of the courses to date on our new Learning Management System. We applaud you for your achievements!
An IIR that has gone above and beyond…
